… Christmas! The most wonderful time of the year is officially upon us. It’s completely acceptable to listen to Christmas music, Starbucks has red cups, people are decking the halls, cars are driving around with ridiculous antlers and red “noses,” and baby… it’s getting cold outside! Everyone just seems to be in a cheerier mood, don’t they? My house is officially decorated, with the exception of the tree. Hopefully that will be soon! In the mean time, I’ve made and decorated my own little tree (above). I’m having lots of fun working on some holiday concepts and am looking forward to sharing them in the next few weeks!
So, a question for you: Real or fake tree? White or colored lights?
When I was a little girl, we always had the big, fat colored bulbs. You could squint your eyes up and see the most magical sight. Now I love the little white bulbs. Must have a real tree. Artificial ones smell like the attic. If you have to go fake, get the best Christmas candle out there: Frazier Fir by Thymes. Makes the whole room smell good!
You are right, that candle is the greatest!
We’ve always done fake trees, but as soon as we have kids, I’d love to start the tradition of going to a tree lot to chop down a real one.
We have two trees up–one has colored lights and childhood ornaments, while the other one is a themed tree and has white lights with teal, silver, and white ornaments. :)

I’d love to have a tradition of going up to the mountains to chop down a tree when I have a little family of my own as well! We always get a real one, but we just pick it out from a tree lot down the street.
I love your illustration. :)
We have always had a fake tree, but I would like to get a real one some day and I prefer colored lights.

Thanks Meagan! I bet having a fake tree is much more convenient. We always have a real tree, and while it smells nice, it’s always a pain to clean up and dispose of after Christmas.
After years of fake trees, we finally got a real one a few years back! I love the smell of it!

Real trees all the way! We always had colored lights growing up, but I wanna give the white ones a try now that I’m out on my own :)
