Helloo!  If you’re reading in Google Reader or email, click on over and check out the Meet Virginia’s new look!

Life seems very new to me right now – new year, new job, new apartment – and I thought my blog should reflect that.  I’ve been unhappy with my old theme for a while now.  It seemed too busy and maybe even a little bit juvenile, so I was really looking to streamline things.  I found a shop called Blog Me Pretty on Etsy and really liked their classic, simple designs, so I went with it!  I’m not sure it is displaying 100% properly yet, so let me know if it looks crazy on your computer.  It should look like this:

I still need to click around a little and work out the kinks (like linking my Instagram, Twitter, and Pinterest accounts to those little buttons on the right), but overall I’m really happy with the new look.  I hope you are too!

I meant to take a few pictures of my new apartment over the weekend to share but moving fried my brain.  I was afraid moving day was going to be a disaster when we locked the keys to the moving truck in the moving truck on Saturday morning, but everything turned out A-OK!  A big thanks to Jonathan and my awesome parents for moving me in and helping me unpack.  I’m really loving my little place and am hoping to share some good pictures with you by next week at the latest.  I’m afraid I won’t be able to take any good ones until this weekend since I’m at work during all day light hours.  Just for a little teaser, here’s a peek at my room:

My friend Kara is staying with me this week so she’s helping me make the place feel like home!  We always wanted to be roommates in college so now we are finally getting our chance, even if it’s only for a week. : )

OH!  And before I forget, thanks to all of you who entered The Sweet Relish Giveaway.  The winner is Jolie H.  Congrats, Jolie!  I hope you enjoy your new Sweet Relish swag!

What a cozy bedroom for the “working girl”! Can’t wait to see more pics. I like your blog’s updated look.

I love the way your new print shines up in the darkened room. I can see LOVE NEVER FAILS as plain as can be! Is that because the letters are gold or because the statement is true?

  • Oh, sorry, I totally forgot to say how incredible your new job sounds. Sooo: Your new job sounds like a great and fun one!

The new design looks good though I do like a bit more of colour. But it’s still great overall!

I’m curious to see more pictures of your flat and you having stuffed animals in bed still, too, makes me feel better about mine :). Also, it’s so nice you have a friend help make you feel cozier and more at home quickly.

Of course! I got mine from an antique store in VA and I think I paid around $100. The bed is a full and I think the headboard could easily fit a queen or even a king could squeeze. Hope that helps! :)
