Let’s Talk About The Bachelor.

Hiya!  How’s your week going?  I’m really trying to write here more consistently, but I’m realizing that I probably won’t always have something specific to write about.  How I found something to blog about every single day while I was in college, I have no idea.  Today’s post is going to be an example of one that hops around from topic to topic, so please forgive me for the lack of a real theme.

Running:

You guys were awesome and gave me all kinds of tips for solving my dilemma about running in the dark.  This week I’ve been packing a bag and running on a greenway by my office right after work.  This works well because I have a 20 minute commute home and if I were to make the drive before trying to get my run in I would (1) be running in pitch blackness and (2) have no motivation left.  Right after work I’m plenty motivated to get outside and move around since I have been sitting all day long and it’s still light out.  I’ve run 3 days this week and am happy to be making some time improvements.  One of my big running goals for this year is to get faster, and while I’m still slow, I’m improving.  So that’s encouraging.

Make Up:

Once again you guys did not let me down and hooked me up with some of the best drugstore make up.  I went to CVS this weekend and got 2 things that I like a lot so I figured I’d share.

1. Garnier BB Cream:  I kept hearing about “BB Cream” and didn’t know what the heck that meant but apparently that stands for beauty balm.  This is kind of like a tinted moisturizer but with more coverage.  I’ve been using it as my moisturizer and base foundation layer and I really like the way it evens out my skin tone.  Plus it smells really good.

2.  Coty Airspun Loose Face Powder:  For all of my Bare Minerals loving friends, this is basically a huge container of Mineral Veil for a fraction of the cost.  It is literally 7 times the size of Mineral Veil (I’m looking at ounces on both of them as I type this) and it has an almost identical ingredient list.  Plus, it is only $7.00 and Mineral Veil is $20.00.  My mom is probably laughing at me talking about this stuff because I think it’s pretty old school – it comes with a little face puff and the container says “Since 1935.”  If it ain’t broke…

The Bachelor

Okay, who’s watching The Bachelor this season?  I usually love this show and am, in general, a fan of what you might call junk tv.  Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Sister Wives, Real World… I like the ridiculous stuff.  I was totally into The Bachelorette last season (Team Jef forever), and I am always secretly hoping to bump into Emily out and about around Charlotte.

That being said, I am totally underwhelmed with this season.  This sounds terrible but it seems like Sean is too nice.  Sure, every girl wants to end up with a nice, good looking guy that supports charities and and flies your dog out to visit you when you are lonely, but it doesn’t really make for great TV.  I loved Sean as a contestant on Emily’s season, but he seems a little too “vanilla” to be the main man.  Now that I think about it, I do like Sean way better than Ben or Brad, they were awful.

BUT since I, of course, am still watching it, my favorites are Sarah (I want her french bulldog), Selma (she’s gorg), and Desiree.  Shout out to Charlotte local Katie who writes a great healthy living blog.  I know people were ripping on her hair but I think it’s awesome.  I am pulling for Desiree because she seems pretty genuine and down to earth.  Jonathan says I only like her because I just got my hair cut and now we are bangs twins.  Maybe so.
