I know in the past I’ve pretty much sung the praises of Stitch Fix, but my July and August boxes were super “meh.” That explains why there was no September box. July’s box was so matronly and terrible that I didn’t even take pictures. I was assigned a new stylist, which is fine with me, and I guess it takes a little time for them to “get to know you.” Kind of a bummer because I really liked my old stylist, but that’s okay. I’m sure the new one and I will be besties in no time. I only kept one item from my July box, this necklace:
Here’s what was in my August box:
I thought this top was fun and different than anything else I had. I didn’t get a picture but there is a fun pleat in the back. I kept this top and have already worn it at least 5 times.
I liked this top but sent it back because I already have one that’s almost identical. I do love that color.
This skirt was wrong for me on so many levels. Sent it back.
I was on the fence about this dress but ended up sending it back because red isn’t really my color and I couldn’t think of a time or place that I would wear it. The material was really nice and thick, but the only occasion I could think of was “Christmas party” and I can’t think of the last time I went to a fancy Christmas party, so back to Stitch Fix HQ it went. Then I was watching New Girl and noticed Jess wearing a basically identical dress in the opening credits and kind of wished I had kept it, because hello don’t we all wish we were Zooey Deschanel, but oh well.
I’ve seen a few other bloggers get this dress and really loved it but unfortunately my stylist sent me a size too big. She said, “I hope you don’t mind that I sized up, I thought it would fit you better.” Just gonna pretend I’m not offended by that. Anyway I would have loved to keep it but it was way too big and the zipper was broken. Back it went!
So I’m feeling kind of on the rocks with Stitch Fix these days but I have an October box coming next week so we’ll see if that redeems things. For the sake of full disclosure, I probably wouldn’t have ordered another box after 2 bad boxes in a row but I still have credit and getting surprise clothes in the mail is kind of like Christmas.
Stitch Fix is still technically in Beta and is by invitation only. If you’d like to give it a try, here’s an invitation for ya! I know some of you guys have ordered a Stitch Fix box for yourself — I’d love to hear about what you got! Tell me in the comments!
p.s. The winner of the Craft & Candor Giveaway is Haley! Congrats, Haley. Thanks to everyone who entered!
